Welcome to the second oldest park in the City of Jacksonville, Riverside Park.

Park History: The land that is now Riverside Park was first preserved as far back as 1869 and throughout the late 19th and early 20th Century the City of Jacksonville worked hard on creating what was considered one of the best parks in the southern United States by the year 1907. In 1997, nearly a century after the park was finished, a terrible storm came through and caused massive damage including the loss of 52 trees. The City of Jacksonville and the organization known as Riverside Avondale Preservation worked diligently to help rebuilt this park.

Today it remains beautiful and offers many opportunities for the residents and visitors of Jacksonville. Come on out and have fun.
