Verona Park is located in Jacksonville, Florida on land that was once part of the San Jose Plantation in the late 18th century. In the roaring 1920's a local real estate developer generously donated this land to the City of Jacksonville for recreational purposes. To this day the surrounding community has not lost it's Spanish influence because much of the local architecture is Spanish style. With the exception of the children's playground, most of the park remains in a natural state and helps protect the waters of a creek that feeds into the Saint John's River nearby. Come out and bring the kids and have fun!

This was RecPlanet place of the day on November 14, 2017.
