Carney Island Park

The Carney Island Recreation and Conservation Area has been a popular destination for both locals and tourists in need of a relaxing venture back to nature for decades. Located on the banks of Lake Weir , named for the late Lieutenant Weir who was killed on the banks during the early 1800s, the park provides pleasant and rustic scenery, as well as numerous amenities to ensure each visit to the former orange grove just as memorable as the last. Whether venturing into the waters of the beach, launching a boat from one of the ramps, or bringing your tiniest visitors to the designated playground, the former orange grove greets your visit with low hanging Spanish moss and native wildlife. Open from sunrise to sunset, an entire day of wholesome fun is ensured in the per vehicle fee.
