Freedom Park

Atlanta, Georgia

Welcome to a piece of land that was once purchased by the State of Georgia in order to become a road known as the Carter Expressway, Atlanta's beautiful Freedom Park. After the road was defeated the State of Georgia held onto the land for many years and did nothing with it until the late 1990's when part of the land was turned into Freedom Parkway and another part of it was turned into Freedom Park. The PATH foundation built this park's trail which ultimately connects downtown Atlanta with Stone Mountain Park. Freedom Park is a great place to toss the frisbee, ride a bicycle, fly a kite, have a community gathering, or just hang out and catch some rays.
