Welcome to Georgia's Richard B. Russell State Park located in Elberton. This park is named for Richard B. Russell State Park, who served in public office for over a half century as a State Legislator, Governor of Georgia, and United States Senator.

This large park not only boasts many recreational opportunities but also lots of historic sites of the Paleo-Indian era over 10,000 years ago. Also located within the park is one of the oldest steel pin bridges in the region. For the recreational enthusiast this park boasts both types of golf whether it be with a flyinc disc or a ball and clubs, a swimming beach on Lake Russell, over six miles of multipurpose trails, 28 developed campsites, and much more. Come out and explore.
