Fort Pulaski National Monument
Fort Pulaski National Monument is a beautiful and historic Civil War Fortification in Tybee Island, Georgia. After several long battles General Sherman and his Union Army ultimately captured this fort. As the founder of RecPlanet I can tell you about my personal experience here on March 31, 1995. The place was grand, old, and some of the tunnels were pitch black. There are those who say that it's haunted and once in a while they have ghost tours.
Wildlife: Aside from protecting a historic structure Fort Pulaski National Monument also protects inmportant wildlife habitat for white-tailed deer, manatees, peregrine falcons, seagulls, pelicans, and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
