Des Moines Iowa Parks

Welcome to Muto Recreation Area located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa along the banks of the Des Moines River. This park has paved multipurpose trails where one can exercise and enjoy the scenery.

When visiting any park in Des Moines, Iowa please respect the rules. 

*Conducting any organized event in any city park requires that one obtain special permission from the city. *Consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly forbidden in any city park. 

*All burning is restricted to BBQ grills. 

*Please respect all park property including buildings, fences, animals, and plants. 

*For the safety of other park users, all glass objects are prohibited. 

*No littering, please place all trash in proper containers, they are there for a reason. Please help keep Des Moines City Parks clean. 

 *All parks open at 6 a.m. and close 30 minutes past dusk. 

*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; boating, flying remote-controlled aircraft, golfing, swimming.
