Welcome to Union Park, one of the original 5 urban parks to be established in Des Moines in 1892. Two of the unique features of Union Park are it's historic Heritage Carousel and it's rocket slide which is a big slide designed to look like a rocket. The park also has a sprayground for hot summer days, a tennis court, a basketball court, and more.

*Conducting any organized event in any city park requires that one obtain special permission from the city. 

*The following are all prohibited in any Des Moines city park; consumption of alcoholic beverages, littering, glass objects, defacing public property.

 *All parks open at 6 a.m. and close 30 minutes past dusk. 

*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; boating, picnic grilling, flying remote-controlled aircraft, golfing, swimming.
