Welcome to Walnut Woods State Park located on the banks of the Raccoon River in West Des Moines, Iowa. One of the park's more unique features is it's stone lodge that was first built back in the 1930's. It's a popular place for weddings and other events. One can launch their watercraft in the river and come do some exploring.

Camping: Of the 22 campsites 8 of them have full hookups and 13 have electricity. Restrooms and a dump station are located nearby but sadly there are no showers.

Trails: There are 2.5 miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons just waiting to be explored.
