Welcome to Chicago's Athletic Field Park located just off Interstate 94.

Park History: This urban sports center received it's name for obvious reasons. The land was first purchased in 1923 by the Irving Park District and after three years of work, the park was finally opened to the public in 1926. Many of the park's facilities were designed by Clarence Hatzfield, a notable local architect. Like many of the other park districts in the region, the Great Depression forced the Irving Park District to merge with the Chicago Park District.
