Welcome to Chicago's Douglas Park located in the North Lawndale neighborhood. This urban recreation area was first established in 1869 and was named for a man who served as a United States senator and also ran for President against Lincoln in 1860. Unlike Lincoln he never served as President, however like Lincoln he was very instrumental in helping to build the railroads. Many of the park's facilities were designed by world renouned landscape architect Jens Jensen.
