Welcome to Hayes Park in Chicago, Illinois. This was one of many urban playgrounds established to meet the recreational demands that surged after World War II. It first opened in 1956 and numerous improvements have been made over the years. This park is named for Father Francis Hayes a local catholic priest. Hayes passed away in 1976.
