Welcome to Chicago's Metcalfe Park located in the Grand Boulevard Community just off of Interstate 90. This park is the site of a former coal yard and was first established in 1979 in an effort to revitalize a declining community. In 1984 the site was named after Ralph Metcalfe a politician and athlete from the region who was the first African-American to serve on the Illinois State Athletic Commission. In 1970 he was elected to Congress. The athletic courts are all lighted so people can play at night.

To contact the park office please call 312-747-6728.
