Welcome to Chicago's beautiful Northery Island Park located on the shores of Lake Michigan. For nearly a half century from 1947 until 1996 this land was an operating small airport known as Meigs Field. Once the airport was shut down the city agreed to convert it back into a park. Today it is a fantastic place to get a beautful view of the Chicago skyline and is also a great place for kite-flying on windy days.

This park is also home to 12th Street Beach located at 1200 South Lynn White Drive.
