Welcome to Chicago's Richard Clark Playlot Park located on the banks of the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Park History: The land that is now Richard Clark Playlot Park was once part of a German Hunting Preserve that was converted into the Riverview Amusement park in 1904. Riverview boasted a roller coaster, a parachute drop, a ferris wheel, and other fun attractions. In 1967 Riverview closed and the City of Chicago purchased the land. The city held onto the land for 12 years before turning it into a park in 1979. In 1986 the site was named in memory of Chicago Police Officer Richard Clark, who was killed in the line of duty on April 3rd of that year during a brave rescue attempt. In 1988 the park was expanded by six acres with a lease from the water district.

Today this park boasts baseball fields, a launch for canoes and kayaks, and much more. Come on out and have fun. To contact the office please call 773-248-3966.
