Welcome to Chicago's Sherman Park located in the New City neighborhood. This park was first established in 1905 in order to meet turn of the 20th century recreational needs. Landscape architect Daniel Burnham requested that this park be named after his father in law, John Sherman. This park is unique in that it's athletic fields are technically located on an island.
