Welcome to Chicago's Taylor Park located in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on what was once the site of the nation's largest public housing project. The park is named for the man who was the first African-American to head the Chicago Housing Authority, Robert Rochon Taylor, who was born in Alabama, received his education at Howard University, and then migrated to the Chicago region. He was a very active member of his local community. The park's community center has many programs for kids 12 months a year from after school daycare to day camp in the summer.
