Fox River Shores Forest Preserve
Welcome to Fox River Shores Forest Preserve. Founded in 1988, the popular Fox River Shores Forest Preserve protects habitat for rare plants including Vanilla Grass and the Tway Blade Orchid. Running through the preserve is a popular bicycle and walking trail that was once a segment of the Chicago and Northwestern railway. In order to control flooding and reduce zoning problems the county has been purchasing lands adjacent to the preserve for many years.
For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts many trails, a canoe launch, and so much more. Come on out and explore!
