Salt Creek Canoe Launches
Welcome to Eldridge Park located in Elmhurst, Illinois on the banks of Salt Creek. This is a large and wonderful community park that was once an operating landfill up until around the mid 1950's when the park district bought the land and began to convert it into a conservation and recreation area. Additional tracts were added to the park in the 1960's and 1970's. Today this park boasts a .75 mile walking trail, a roller-hockey court, two soccer fields, two tennis courts, a canoe launch for Salt Creek, two full basketball courts, and a playground. The park is named after Edward Eldridge, an early settler and farmer in the region who played a role in village leadership.
