Welcome to Messenger Marsh Preserve located in Homer, Illinois. This preserve started off at just 2 acres in size but has since grown to over 625 acres over the past two decades. For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts over 3.5 miles of multipurpose trails including a section of the Spring Creek Greenway trail that is made of crushed limestone, a 5 acre off-leash dog park, and so much more. This preserve also helps protect the home of white-tailed deer, snapping turtles, raccoons, blue herons, hawks, owls, squirrels, and many others. Come out and explore this forest.
