Messenger Woods Forest Preserve

Welcome to Messenger Woods Forest Preserve located in Homer Glen, Illinois. This preserve protects a diversity of habitats including wetlands, prairie savanna, and forest. It gives home to numerous plants and animals including over 60 species of birds, squirrels, raccoons, white-tailed deer, red-tailed hawks, turtles and wild flowers such as blue-eyed Marys, and hepaticas. For the recreational enthusiast there are 3 miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons, picnic shelters with a capacity of about 120 people, primitive campsites, and more. Come out and explore!
