Welcome to Edward R. Madigan State Park located on the banks of Salt Creek near Lincoln, Illinois. This nearly 1,000 acre quite and peaceful park was acquired in 1970 and developed in 1971. The park is forested with oaks, walnuts, hickories, hackberries, ashes, and the largest known sycamore tree in the State of Illinois. For the lover of the outdoors this park offers a seven mile multipurpose trail, several picnic areas, and opportunities for the angler to catch fish such as bluegill, bass, crappie, sunfish, carp, and catfish. Edward R. Madigan State Park is home to many wild critters including raccoons, pheasants, deer, rabbits, hawks, and others. Please treat their home with respect. Come on out and explore!
