Greene Valley Forest Preserve

Naperville, Illinois

Welcome to Greene Valley Forest Preserve, an oasis of wetlands, savannas, and oak forests located in Naperville, Illinios.

Flora and Fauna: Greene Valley Forest Preserve helps protect the home of numerous plant and animal species. Over the years the Forest Preserve District has worked hard to help restore these natural habitats. Some of the plants that grow inside Greene Valley Forest Preserve are not found anywhere else in DuPage County. This preserve also helps protect the home of many native birds and mammals. The wildflowers in the spring and summer are quite the site to see. Some of the wild animals that call this place home include, toads, frogs, foxes, coyotes, meadowlarks, bobolinks, hawks, and owls. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts beautiful views of DuPage County and the towering Chicago skyscrapers on top of the 190 foot Green Valley Hill, over 12 miles of multipurpose trails (please stay on the trails to help prevent erosion and protect the plants), the Thunderbird Youth Camp, a flying area for remote control aircraft (must have permit), a 16 acre off-leash dog area, several picnic tables, and so much more. Come on out and explore.
