Welcome to the Forked Creek/Forsyth Woods Forest Preserve located near Wilmington, Illinois.

Preserve History: This preserve, perhaps best known for it's marvelous prairie grass which can grow up to five feet in height, was first established in 1974 and additional lands have been purchased since that time.

For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts a one mile walking trail, fishing on Forked Creek, kite flying opportunities on windy days, a picnic shelter, and so much more. Come on out and explore.

The picnic area has grills so bring some meats for cooking.
