Welcome to one of the highest ranked Skate Parks in the United States, Louisville's magnificent Extreme Park located at the intersection of Interstates 64 and 65. Extreme Park was first established in 2002 and is over 40,000 square feet in size. This park offers opportunities for those with skateboards, bicycles, and inline skates. Come out and have fun.

Louisville Metro Parks Rules

Driving:

*Please obey all speed limits and watch out for park pedestrians, bikers, and skaters.

*Do not block park paths or trails with your vehicle.

*All vehicles must stay on paved and designated surfaces.

Playgrounds:

*Parental supervision of children is strongly recommended.

*Playgrounds are checked routinely for damage however since damage can occur between inspections park users are asked to report damage or other hazardous conditions to the Metro Parks district by calling 502-574-5000.

*For their own safety any article of clothing containing hoods or exposed drawstrings is prohibited on all playgrounds.

Biking and Skating:

*All helmets and pads approproiate to the sport must be worn at all times. Remember that a helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by as high as 88%.

*Cyclists must obey all traffic laws and wear reflective clothing at night.

Sledding:

*Use only devices designed for sledding. Use of cooking wear or trash can tops or the like is prohibited.

*Sledding is allowed only on designated hills.

*Make sure you can see where you are going and do not sled while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

*Do not come alone, have a friend or other accompanying partner who can notify your family in the event of an emergency.

Trail Rules:

*Plan ahead and remember that all trails close at dusk.

*Visitors are encouraged to carry cell phones for emergencies.

*Visitors are encouraged wear bug repellant and to check for ticks after hikes in the woods and steer clear of poison ivy and other toxic plants.

*If stung by an insect please remove stinger carefully. If reaction is severe please seek medical help by calling 911.

*Steer clear of likely snake habitats including debris mounds, brush piles, root systems, and logjams.

General Park Rules:

*Please use park only during designated hours.

*Keep children supervised at all times.

*Visitors are discouraged from using the parks alone.

*Visitors are encouraged to learn first aid techniques.

*Please wear sunblock.
