Washington Monument State Park

Welcome to Maryland's beautiful Washington Monument State Park located on top of South Mountain. This is the oldest monument dedicated to the 1st President of the United States George Washington. The Citizens of Boonsboro first erected this thing in 1827 and for years it has been a popular place for bird-watching particularly in the early fall. The picnic area has grills so bring some meats for cooking. Most of the park's trails are actually a section of the Appalachian Trail.
