Anderson Park

Montclair, New Jersey

Welcome to Anderson Park located in Montclair, New Jersey.

Park History: The land that is now Anderson Park was originally known as Montclair Park (Clear Mountain Park) until it was transferred from the City of Montclair to Essex County in 1901. In 1909 the name was changed in honor of the generous man who donated the land to become a park in the first place, C.W. Anderson. Like much of Essex County the land that is now Anderson Park was once very swampy but over time draining and filling turned it into the beautiful landscaped park that she is today. The park was designed by the Olmsted Brothers Firm and completed in August 1903. Today this relatively undeveloped park makes for quite a scenic stroll. Come on out and explore.
