Princeton Battlefield State Park

Princeton, New Jersey

Welcome to the beautiful Princeton Battlefield State Park located in Princeton, New Jersey, home of the elite Ivy League School Princeton University. It was at this site in 1777 where General George Washington, who eventually became the nation's first commander in chief, scored his first major victory against the British Troops. One of the other historic features of this park is the Clarke House Museum, which was built by a man named Thomas Clarke in 1772. This park also helps protect a woodland and wetland habitat for raccoons, white-tailed deer, squirrels, barred owls, and many others. Come out and explore the hiking trails! It is also a good place for bird-watching.

Princeton Battlefield State Park was RecPlanet Park of the day on January 22, 2014.
