Henry Morganthau Preserve

Pound Ridge, New York

Welcome to Henry Morganthau Preserve in Pound Ridge, New York. This preserve is named for a German American immigrant who served as both a United States Attorney as well as Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire during WWI. Though he started off as a lawyer Morganthau made most of his money through real estate investments. The preserve was established in 1972 when his daughter Ruth donated the land to The Nature Conservancy.

Come out and hike the trails through 4 different forest communities; oak-hickory, red maple, sugar maple, and white pine and you will also see some large boulders, historic stone walls dating as far back as the 17th century, and much more.

To contact the Pound Ridge Land Conservancy please call 914-205-3533.
