Upper Onondaga Park
Welcome to Upper Onondage Park located in Syracuse, New York. When the city first purchased this land in 1900 it was the site of a former City Reservoir that was a popular site for picnicking and swimming. Soon, that reservoir was transformed into a lake that also drew many swimmers and picnickers. Local funeral director John McCarthy was generous enough to build the park’s wooden piers and lifeguard building. Today this park not only boasts picnicking and swimming opportunities but also three basketball courts, eight tennis courts, a bandstand for summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. Come on out and have a blast! To reach the city parks department please call 315-473-4330.
