Slate Run Park
Welcome to the beautiful Slate Run Park, a unique place of geological history located in Canal Winchester, Ohio. The name of the park is somewhat deceiving, the dark soil is not actually slate, but shale, dating back over 350 million years in age. Slate Run Park's deciduous forests, grasslands, and wetlands help protect the habitat of numerous wild animals including white-tailed deer, raccoons, turtles, and over 70 species of birds. Please treat their home with respect when visiting. For the recreational enthusiast Slate Run Park boasts horsehoe courts, a 19th century covered bridge, over 12 miles of multipurpose trails, two picnic shelters and more. Come out and explore!
