James A. Garfield National Historic Site



Welcome to James A. Garfield National Historic Site located in Mentor, Ohio. As the name implies this park is the former home of President James Garfield. Garfield was one of four United States Presidents to be assassinated. He was shot on July 2, 1881 and succummed to his wounds several weeks later. Chester A. Arthur was his Vice-President and thus the next president.
