Lake Mineral Wells State Park is a former health resort that is now a popular state owned recreation area in the heart of Texas cattle country. It is located about an hour from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The park first opened to the public in the summer of 1981.

Boating and Fishing: Lake Mineral Wells is 640 acres in size and you can bring your own watercraft or rent a non-motorized boat at the park. Waterskiing and person water craft are prohibited. The lake is filled with crappie, largemouth bass, and catfish. There are six fishing piers on the lake.

Trails: Lake Mineral Wells State Park has nearly 13 miles of multipurpose trails. Come out and explore. This park is also one of the few places in north Texas where one can do rock-climbing.
