Big Bear Park
Welcome to Big Bear Park in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. This park got it's name due to a 6 foot 7 4.5 ton granite bear statue that stands near the playground. A local school teacher named Reed Tyler sculpted the bear in 1966. The park's 2 tennis courts as well as the sand volleyball court all have lights so people can play at night. Come out and hit some home runs, score some soccer goals, and give the bear a nice big bear hug.
Picnicking: The picnic shelter at Big Bear Park has 20 tables and a 135 person capacity. Since the park's bear is not real that means it cannot steal your picnic basket.
