James River Park

Welcome to James River Park, one of the larger and more active recreation areas in Richmond, Virginia. There are a few access points to this park but the main one is on Riverside Drive. From the park's island Belle Isle one can watch the paddlists take on the rapids. The park also has an observation tower where one can catch a nice view of the Richmond Skyline.

When visiting any park in Richmond, Virginia it is important to know the rules. 

*All parks are open from dawn until dusk unless otherwise posted.

*The following are all prohibited, glass objects, alcohol, golfing, archery.

*All animals must be leashed and waste removed. And with the exception of service animals dogs are only allowed at the following parks; Byrd Park, Chimborazoo Dog Park, Barker Field Dog Park, Forest Hill Park.

*All fires are restricted to fire pits and picnic grills.

*Please respect all park property including trees, bushes, benches, athletic amenities, etc.

*The following require special permits, stages, amplified sound, tents, conducting of sales, etc.
