Welcome to Gypsy Hill Park located in Staunton, Virginia. In the mid-19th century this was where the City of Staunton got a great deal of it's supply of water from the natural springs. In 1876 the city purchased 30 acres of land to help protect the natural water supply and by 1890 the size of the city owned tract had tripled and a recreational area was established. Local resident Captain W.P. Tams helped develop many of the park amenities over the years and as early as 1893 it was home to the city zoo. Today this park has picnic areas with grills, paved multipurpose trails, and numerous athletic facilities. Come out and have fun!

This park was RecPlanet park of the day for December 31, 2013. Thus making it the last park of the day for the year 2013.
