Welcome to Seattle's Matthews Beach Park located along the Burke-Gilman Trail. This piece of land was once owned by a man named John Matthews in the late 19th century. The City of Seattle first purchased this land in 1951 and today it boasts a swimming beach with lifeguards on duty, access to the Burke-Gilman trail, a carry-in boat launch, picnic areas with grills, and much more. Come on out and have fun. The basketball court is a half court.
