Hutton Lake National Wildlife Refuge
Welcome to Hutton Lake National Wildlife Refuge located outside of Laramie, Wyoming. This refuge was first established in 1932 when a man named J. Clark Salyer III selected wild areas important for migratory waterfowl. It is a high elevation grassland habitat that sits about 7,150 feet above sea level and has 5 small lakes, Creighton, George, Hoge, Hutton, and Rush. Aside from the migratory birds the refuge also helps protect habitat for prairie dogs.
