Welcome to Gaviota State Park located on California's beautiful Pacific Coast in Goleta. Gaviota is the Spanish word for seagull and this place got it's name from Spanish explorers who were in the region in the late 18th century and apparently killed a seagull. Today this beautiful park is a very popular destination for swimming, surfing, scuba diving, fishing, and camping. The visitor can also hike up the tall Gaviota peak for magnificent views! It also gives home to wild animals such as seagulls, raccoons, pelicans, and many others. Come out and explore!
