California State Parks

Welcome to California's Saddleback Butte State Park located on the western edge of the Mojave Desert at about 3,651 feet above sea level. One of the best times of the year to come here is in the spring to see the blooming desert wildflowers.

Wildlife: Some of the resident wildlife include coyotes, desert tortoises, ground squirrels, hawks, owls, and golden eagles. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.

Camping: There are 37 family campsites in Saddleback Butte State Park. Each one has access to flush toilets but sadly there are no showers. There is a 30 foot limit on RV's.

To contact the office please call 661-946-6092.

This was RecPlanet place of the day on April 2, 2017.
