Welcome to Golden Gate Canyon State Park Located only 30 miles from downtown Denver Golden Gate Canyon State Park was established in 1960. It's elevation ranges from as low as 7600 feet to as high as 10400 feet.
Flora and Fauna: Golden Gate Canyon State Park helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the park boundaries include aspens, pines, firs, and Rocky Mountain Junipers. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include black bears, elk, mountain lions, raccoons, skunks, porcupines, rabbits, muskrats, coyotes, and foxes. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors the park boats over 36 miles of multipurpose trails and scenic vistas of the Colorado Rockies. There are dozens of campsites including 59 with electricity and 38 primitive sites. Come on out and explore!
