Welcome to the beautiful Colt Park located in Hartford, Connecticut next to the Dillon Stadium. A woman named Elizabeth Colt generously donated this land to the City of Hartford in 1900 and five years later the park was established. Much of the planning for this park was done by Parks Superintendent Theodore Wirth, who eventually held the same position in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There is a statue and memorial garden of Colonel Samuel Colt, a relative of Mrs. Colt who fought in World War I. In the roaring 1920's elm trees were planted in memory of other soldiers who died during the war.

Today the beautiful Colt Park has two pools for hot summer days, two full basketball courts, two soccer fields, ten ball diamonds, and much more. Come out and have fun!
