Monterey Square

Savannah, Georgia

Welcome to Monterey Square in Savannah, Georgia. This park commemorates the Battle of Monterey of the Mexican-American War in which General Zachary Taylor captured the City of Monterrey. Taylor would later become the 12th President of the United States. Oddly the statue of Casimir Pulaski is located in this park and not in Pulaski Square.
