Millard Park
Welcome to Millard Park located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Highland Park, Illinois. This suburban park was once a part of the Schaffner Estate that was first established in the early 20th century. The City of Highland Park first purchased the land in 1969 and demolished the old house in 1982 and restored the old garden in 1987. In the early 1990's the local chapter of the garden club took over managing the garden and named it in memory of Robert Schaffner. Millard Park is named after one of the first commissioners of the City of Highland Park and President of the Local Park District. Today this park offers hiking trails and helps protect the habitat of white-tailed deer, numerous shorebirds, and other animals. Come out and explore.
