Welcome to Fort Wayne's wonderful Bob Arnold Northside Park. Before this land became a city park it was the site of the Indiana State School and Training Center. Once the school shut down the City of Fort Wayne advocated for the creation of a park in it's place and their wish was granted in 1979 when they gained ownership of the land. In 1981 the city got the necessary funds needed to build the park's amenities and finally in 1983 the park opened to the public. For the first 16 years it was known simply as Northside Park but in 1999 the name of a long-serving Director of the Fort Wayne Park and Recreation Department, Bob Arnold, was added to the park's name. Today this park has an informal soccer field, a swimming pool and water park for hot summer days, tennis courts, and much more. Come out and have fun!
