Lindenwood Nature Preserve

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Welcome to Fort Wayne's majestic Lindenwood Nature Preserve.

Park History: Before this land was Lindenwood Nature Preserve it was part of the Lindenwood Cemetery. In 1974 the City of Fort Wayne began leasing the land. In 1984, after the expiration of the ten year lease, the City of Fort Wayne partnered with the English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation to purchase the land. In 1987 it became an official city park. In 1994, 20 years after the city first leased the land, the City of Fort Wayne applied to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for State Nature Preserve status in order to help protect this park's valuable ecosystems.

For the lover of the outdoors this preserve boasts four hiking trails, an open air pavilion, and much more. Come on out and explore.
