Longfellow Park
Welcome to Longfellow Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tihs park is named for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the author of The Song of Hiawatha that made Minnehaha Falls famous around the world. The City of Minneapolis first purchased this land in 1911 for a price of only $7K. Over the years numerous amenities were developed and a small zoo was operated inside the park. Today it remains an active recreation area year round, from ice-skating in the winter to wading in the pool in the summer. Come out and have fun! The basketball courts are half courts and the picnic areas do have grills.
