Welcome to North Commons Park located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This park was first purchased by the City of Minneapolis in 1907 from a man named L.P. Henry for a price of nearly $50K and in the following years it's amenities including a playground, a basketball court, an ice-rink, and athletic fields were quickly developed to meet growing demand for recreational facilities. Theodore Wirth was instrumental in developing this park. Today this park still boasts numerous recreational opportunities inclulding the North Commons Water Park which is open from June until August and is managed by the local chapter of the YMCA.
