Soccer Destinations

Welcome!

My name is Greyson and I am a High School Soccer player out of Atlanta, Ga. I play club soccer and travel all over the south east and mid west for games and events. Here at my blog you will learn about the best soccer and sports complexes I visit across the country. As the season approaches the travel begins! My first destination is Weston Regional Park, in Fort Lauderdal Fl. As I travel I will write about my experiences at these parks and how my soccer season ends up. I hope you follow and continue to read my posts!

Weston Regional Park, Fort Lauderdale Florida

Submitted by gwalldorff on Sun, 10/21/2012 - 21:01.

As my team and I boarded the plane for Fort Lauderdale, Florida  everyone was excited but yet nervous for the challenge ahead. Florida is known for having high quality parks and extremely good teams. We were headed to Weston Regional Park the home to Weston FC a team we must beat to get ahead in the rankings. As you arrive to the park you cant help but stare at the palm trees along the drive way into the fields. Only a thin parking lot is between you and the twenty full sized soccer fields ahead of you. The park spoils you to two huge concession stands on either size and brand new bathrooms, which are not very common among soccer parks! As we step on the field for warm ups the pitch is extremely soft and beautiful. The benches are covered by a huge structure shading you from Florida sun. I could not even spot one patch of dirt on the field making it the best field I've played at in a while. The game goes as a battle, we score early and manage to hold them off for the whole 90 Minutes. My team succeeds and wins 1-0 against a challenging team. The park goes down as one of the best in my opinion. For all soccer lovers I hope you get the chance to visit and even play on the pitch!
