Welcome to Sheldon Lake State Park located in Houston, Texas. This reservoir was first established by the United States Government in 1942 in order to provide water for industries in the region that were building supplies for World War II. Today it is a popular fishing and wildlife viewing destination. Watch out for alligators while exploring the half mile nature trail.
